In the hood

Welcome to my neighborhood. The picture is from google maps. My house is the first one from the left on the top. My yard looks really big but it's really only about half that size because the empty lot next to my house doesn't belong to me.

At the bottom of the picture the first building from the left used to be a Dollar General but they moved up the street to a larger building with more parking. The next building over is a doctors office.

We'll be enjoying a three day weekend starting today so I may or may not be blogging. It's going to be one of those weekends with no plans and just do whatever I want.

Oh my gosh, I have GOT to try this. Our plans are the same as yours, I am sure we will do something fun or get into some kind of trouble. Stay safe.

I love Google Maps! Your yard looks really nice...love the trees! Do you have a split level? I do, and they look similar.
Have a restful weekend!

This looks really strange to me, over here we have what we call back gardens and they are almost always walled off. From the air yours looks like it is all grassed everywhere and not many veg or flower plots, is this so or just looks like it from the air?
It looks like all the gardens merge into one another.
Still, you've got loads of space, whereas here we are limited to a small area for gardens.
Very interesting.

this is to funny. last week i went on google and saved 6 photos of different ways to view our house, one like this, and put them in a folder called Google OUR HOUSE to do a post. since then i have so much to post about i have not used them. i have 16 in my drafts already and 3 more to complete... i keep bumping stuff because i like something new better so the old just sits there.

Gosh, I love Google Maps. It's saved my bacon more than once. (LOL, I thought I'd use the word BACON in my comment, since you recently featured a BACON scented candle.) I like to drag the little man down on the map too and get a car-view. I use it to help geotag my photos.

And it's great how you have the big side yard area available for Duke to play in! (And not have to pay taxes on it, haha.)

How cool! Isn't google maps awesome? Enjoy your holiday weekend! I'm at my daughter's place in Delaware for her graduation. They are all a bunch of sleepy-heads so I'm in her office catching up on blogs while I wait for them all to wake up.

Enjoy your three day weekend as I know you, Wade and Duke will. We'll do the same. We are currently enjoying the weekend at Stockton Yacht Club.

Have a fabulous day. My best to Duke. :)

Neat photo of your home... I love the way you can do this through Google Maps. The biggest difference in your neighborhood and ours is that we are totally filled with big trees all around us---in every direction. When someone builds up here on the mountain, they can only take out as few trees as needed to build.. At one time I counted over 50 big trees in our yard.. It's great for shade --but a booger in the Fall when we have to rake all of the leaves. haha

Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Ann, thank you for following my blog. Your place looks lovely from the air . . . I love all the trees. It also looks like someone waters and mows that lot next door . . . is that you? From the air it looks like a park:)
Have a wonderful weekend . . . I think that we are going to go to the movies and see The Great Gatsby and there is a parade tonight, not sure if we'll go or not . . . depends on how tired we are from working on the boat.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

No plans? Uh, there's a big race on tomorrow night in Charlotte! Won't you be cheering Tony Stewart on? :) I'll have to check out our place on Google maps. Your grass is so green! Is that white spot near the pool Duke?
